This fine and detailed set consist of three Vienna bronze (or Wiener bronze) oriental figures. We can see a seated orientalist holding a book, a standing orientalist with a crowbar and three other weapons, and last two children playing dice. All statues have beautiful Persian carpets underneath. The figures are all wearing turbans and pointed slippers.
The figures are made out of casting moulds and assembled out of different parts. Afterwards they were cold painted with the remarkable color scheme. Later Vienna bronzes are almost always made after the designs of the founder of the most well known bronze factory by Franz Bergmann (1838-1894). His son, Franz Xavier Bergmann (1861-1936) inherited the factory and did the same, just like other Vienna bronze factories who were less known but benefited from the enormous popularity of Vienna bronze. This popularity remained untill the Art Deco period. Nowadays, still small Vienna bronze factories exist.
