This earthenware plate is a copy of the famous kraak-porcelain known from the Wanli period (1573-1620). The border is divided in 8 panels with the scroll and peach flower motif. The scroll motif stands for truth. The middle of the plate has a star shaped center depicting a cache-pot with pomegranates in it, which is the symbol of good posterity.
If this plate was a real Chinese version, it could be dated between 1595 and 1650 due to the division of the border. This Delfts version was made around 1670.
